Returning to Presence:
A Reflective Workbook

By Rhoda Phillips, with illustrations by Daisy & Hazel Miller and a foreword by Rachel Miller.

This book walks you through eleven chapters of story and practice. Follow Beth as she discovers how to release unquestioned weight, accept rather than resist, find heart–brain coherence, allow protective parts to rest, and create her own Circle of Peace.

Each chapter tells a story. Each practice gives it form in your own life. The book can be used independently or as a companion to guided sessions with Rhoda and Rachel.

Chapters include: The Unquestioned Weight · The Place of Still Water · Releasing and Receiving · The Illusion of No Choice · The Pause Before Yes · The Rhythm Beneath the Rush · When Protection Can Rest · The Quiet Guide · Creating a New Reality · Living From Belonging · Returning to Presence

Frequently asked

No. The book is a wonderful companion, but it is not required. Many participants begin with a session and explore the book alongside or after.

This practice draws from Christian spiritual tradition but is offered with openness and respect for individual belief. You always have the freedom to choose what resonates with you and set aside what does not. The language used — Jesus, God, Lady Wisdom, angels — reflects the personal experience of the facilitators, but your circle is yours to shape.

That's wonderful. Returning to Presence is designed to complement, not replace, therapeutic work. Many participants find that this practice supports and deepens the work they're already doing with a licensed provider.

There is no set number. Some people find one or two sessions give them the grounding they need. Others appreciate ongoing support. The practices are meant to be returned to, not mastered. We'll follow your pace.

Then set it aside. Your agency is never overridden. You always have the freedom to choose. If something does not feel right, it is not for you — at least not right now. That choice belongs to you entirely.
